A talented Leeds based illustrator has given Lindsey Lodge Hospice a £500 boost after selling lockdown cards for people to send to their loved ones.

Alice Piper (26) was inspired to design the cards by the North Lincolnshire based charity’s #weneedyou appeal, which has been running to raise much-needed funds after its retail and fundraising activities were drastically reduced by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Alice said: “My cousin Phillip Kostiuk was cared for by Lindsey Lodge Hospice two years ago, so I created the cards and raised the money in memory of him.

“In total I sold over 1,000 cards with 50p from each sale going to the Hospice. I’m so pleased to have raised so much, I never expected them to take off as they did!”

Alice has been a keen supporter of Lindsey Lodge over the past two years, raising funds through Christmas card sales and creating the design for the Hospice’s Gift of Care cards - all in memory of her cousin Phillip.

Lindsey Lodge Fundraiser Kirsty Walker said “On behalf of everyone at Lindsey Lodge, I would like to say a huge thank you to Alice for her fantastic support.

“Every penny Alice has raised will go towards ensuring our patients and their families receive our specialist care and services when they need it most.”
