A North Lincolnshire charity-run hospice has been given a £769 boost thanks to a group of runners from Winterton.

Winterton Running Club, which is based on West Street, chose Lindsey Lodge Hospice as their charity for the 10 Mile Run which took place at Winterton Show.

The event was organised by club member Dr Pat Webster, who is also a Trustee at Lindsey Lodge Hospice, Matt Hammond and long standing member Dot Bontoft, who said: “We’re over the moon to have raised such a fantastic amount of money for Lindsey Lodge and would like to thank all of the runners who took part and raised sponsorship.”

Lindsey Lodge Hospice is run as an independent charity to provide free of charge specialist palliative care to people with life limiting illnesses across North Lincolnshire.

Lindsey Lodge Fundraiser Peter Dennis said: “This is a fantastic amount of money raised and I’d like to say a big thank you from everyone at Lindsey Lodge to Winterton Running Club for choosing us as their charity.”

He added: “As an independent charity our running costs are over £3.5 million every year, so we rely on the kindness and generosity of our local community to continue to provide the best possible palliative care and support for our patients and their families.”
