Our festival-style family fun day has raised over £10,000 in much needed funds for Lindsey Lodge!

More than a thousand supporters of all ages attended our ‘Big 30th Birthday Bash’ on Saturday 18 June, and enjoyed a cram-packed programme of live music and entertainment throughout the afternoon.

Lindsey Lodge Deputy Chief Executive Tom Moody, who helped organise the event said: “This is definitely the biggest event we’ve ever organised! We’re delighted to have raised such a significant sum towards our ‘Cheers for 30 years!’ fundraising appeal, which has an ambitious target of £300k.”

He added: “We’re overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from everyone; from the volunteers, stallholders and all of the fantastic bands, to the staff who helped, and everyone who attended on the day, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our 30th birthday!”

Lindsey Lodge provides specialist palliative and end of life care to patients and families across North Lincolnshire. After first opening its day care centre, now known as the Wellbeing Centre, in 1992 and its 10-bed Inpatient Unit in 2002, it has continued to expand and respond to the growing need for its services. Here in its 30th year, it is now expanding further by opening six new nurse and therapy-led beds, in its brand new Butterfly Wing, as well as piloting a 24/7 palliative care advice line called the Butterfly Line.

Tom said: “We’ve touched the lives of so many patients and families over the past 30 years, and most people know someone who has received care from Lindsey Lodge.

“We are immensely proud of what we do, and will continue to expand and develop our services to ensure people are able to receive the best possible care and support at the time they need it most. To do that, we will continue with our charitable fundraising and retail activities to raise the much-needed income we need to fund it.”

He added: “We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported and continues to support us, and look forward to another 30 years of care for our community!”
