Bargain hunters are being given a boost by a Thorne-based charity shop from Tuesday 1 February.

Lindsey’s Pre-loved Fashion and Gifts at 22 The Green, DN8 5AT is being re-launched as a ‘bargain basement’ outlet by its owners Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare, in a bid to promote pre-loved fashion, encourage recycling and offer affordable prices for the local community.

Lindsey Lodge Senior Manager for Retail and Marketing Jenny Baynham said: “We know that many people are feeling the pinch at the moment, and our shops offer a more affordable alternative to some of the more traditional High Street stores.”

She added: “The other benefit is the green aspect of recycling and re-using clothes, books, toys and household items, rather than them going to landfill; so by purchasing from us, you’re not only supporting us to raise much needed funds for our hospice care, you’re also helping the environment by reducing waste!”

As well as finding the majority of items under £5, budding fashionistas with pennies to spend can also browse for ‘Lindsey’s labels’, a selection of pre-loved hand-picked designer brands and a fraction of their original prices.

Jenny said: “The Thorne community gives us fantastic support both by shopping with us and fundraising for us, and we hope these changes will help our lovely shop to continue to thrive for many years to come.”
