Charity walk set to turn the town neon
.
5th March 2021
Local people are being urged to sign up to ‘get up and glow’ for their local charity-run hospice and healthcare provider.
Registration is now open for the Lindsey Lodge 10-mile Glow Walk 2021, which takes place on Friday 10 September.
Lindsey Lodge Senior Manager for Business Development and Income Generation Tom Moody said: “We’re so excited to welcome back our Glow Walkers in 2021 after last year’s event was changed at the last minute due to Covid-19 restrictions.
“The theme this year is neon and we’re hoping participants will go all out and help us to light up the night sky as they walk to raise funds for Lindsey Lodge.”
This year’s Glow Walk will start and finish at Lindsey Lodge’s Burringham Road site, and take a 10-mile route around Scunthorpe. Entrants are being encouraged to sign up now for just £15, which includes a t-shirt and medal.

and entrants to the event will receive a pack including helpful hints and ideas to support them with their fundraising, along with a proposed training plan for the main event.
Tom said: “Nothing could stop our Glow Walkers last year, we saw hundreds of people completing their own 10-mile walks to raise funds for Lindsey Lodge, so it will be great for everyone to come together again and see the town glow.
“If 1,000 people sign up this year and each raise £50, that would be a significant contribution towards our £3.7 million annual running costs.
“We also have a virtual option available this year if anyone would prefer to take on the Glow Walk in their own time.”
He added: “Please sign up to walk in memory of a friend or loved one, as a way of keeping fit or simply to do something different after what has been a very difficult time – whatever the reason, you’ll be raising much-needed funds for Lindsey Lodge.”
