A big-hearted little girl from Bottesford has raised over £500 for her local Hospice thanks to a charity haircut.
Leys Farm Junior School pupil Mia Marshall (8) underwent the hair raising experience in aid of Lindsey Lodge Hospice and has donated over 8 inches of shorn off locks to The Little Princess Trust.
Mia said: “I wanted to raise money for Lindsey Lodge Hospice as they do a fantastic job looking after really poorly people and I cut my hair short to send to help make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.”
Mia’s friends and family rallied around to sponsor her brave challenge, with many posting special messages of support on her online Just Giving page.
Hospice Fundraiser Selina Doyle said: “When Mia’s mum contacted us to tell us about what she had planned we were bowled over!
“For someone so young to want to help so many people with her fundraising, she should be very proud of all she has achieved – and we are extremely grateful to her and we love her new haircut!”
