4th July 2019
A fun family afternoon is promised at a charity garden party on Sunday 14 July.

The beautiful grounds of Lindsey Lodge Hospice on Burringham Road, Scunthorpe will be the perfect setting for its ever popular Garden Party, which will be attended by Mayor of North Lincolnshire Cllr Jonathan Evison.

The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with life limiting illnesses from North Lincolnshire. It is independent from the NHS, and receives only a small percentage of funding of its £3.5 million running costs, which means the remainder must be raised by donations and fundraising activities.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice Chief Executive Karen Griffiths said: “Our Lindsey Lodge Hospice Garden Party has always been a popular annual event and we hope this year it will be bigger and better than ever! Our brand new choir, ‘Hospice Harmonies’ will also be making their debut appearance to entertain our guests.”

Hospice mascot Lindsey Bear will be making an appearance and TV favourites Peppa and George Pig will be dropping in. Live owls and reptiles will be on display and youngsters can also enjoy enjoy a bouncy castle, face painting, crafts and games, along with a ‘The Cube’ style challenge game and an assault course.

For the grown-ups there will be a whole host of stalls and attractions, along with a hog roast and refreshments.

Karen added: “Our Garden Party will also be the very last chance for people to buy a £1 ticket for our Summer Superdraw, with £1,500 up for grabs for the first prize winner.

“We’ll be drawing out the lucky ticket on the day, so we really do hope people will come along and support us!”

The Lindsey Lodge Hospice Garden Party will run between 12pm and 4pm. Entry is free, but donations would be very welcome. For more information, please contact the Fundraising Team on 01724 270835 or email llh.enquiries@nhs.net
