We’re urging local people to ‘Heart my hospice’ and celebrate Hospice Care Week (8 to 14 October).
Lindsey Lodge Hospice is marking this special week by inviting people to drop in to its Open Day on Tuesday 9 October, between 10am and 4pm to chat with members of the Lindsey Lodge team about the services it provides and its plans for the future.
There will also be an opportunity to take a tour of the Hospice to learn more about its 24 hour care service, therapies and family support, as well as a sneak preview of its ambitious plans to develop its day care services over the coming months. And anyone who visits its Cake Lounge during that week can also enjoy a pastry and hot drink for just £1.50.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice on Burringham Road, Scunthorpe, is run as an independent charity to provide free of charge, specialist care to North Lincolnshire people with any progressive life-limiting illness, and supports their family and carers during illness and into bereavement.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice Chief Executive Karen Griffiths said: “Hospice Care Week is an annual week of celebration and action to raise the profile of hospice care across the UK, run by Hospice UK, it gives us an excuse to go out and talk about the extraordinary work that hospices do at the heart of their communities, that’s why this year’s theme is ‘Heart my hospice’.
“Lindsey Lodge plays such an important role in the local community, so inviting people to come along to our Open Day, or just visit our Cake Lounge for a bite to eat, to see for themselves what a caring, compassionate and welcoming place it really is.”
The Open Day runs from 10am and 4pm on Tuesday 9 October, and the special offer in the Cake Lounge is available Monday 8 through to Friday 12 October, from 10am to 4pm, and on Saturday 13 October 10am to 2pm.
