We're inviting people with real user experience of our care to join a new group to help develop and inform future services.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare’s Hospice User Group (HUG) is open to anyone who has used its services, either as a patient, family member, carer, or loved one of a patient. It will meet in Lindsey Lodge’s Wellbeing Centre four times a year to encourage local people to have a voice in providing valuable feedback and insight into how Lindsey Lodge can continue to improve patient care and support for families.

Lindsey Lodge Clinical Director Helen Turner said: “We are delighted to be launching our Hospice User Group at such an important time for Lindsey Lodge.

“We celebrated 30 years of care last year, which coincided with us undergoing our largest expansion in 20 years with the launch of our new six-bed Butterfly Wing and 24/7 Specialist Palliative Care Advice Service, The Butterfly Line.”

She added: “Our outpatient-based Wellbeing Services are also currently expanding, so this is the right time for us to ensure that people with experience of our services have their say in how they are delivered and how the quality of our care can be maintained, or improved.”

The first Hospice User Group Meeting will take place on Thursday 25 May 2023 in Lindsey Lodge’s Wellbeing Centre, between 3.30pm and 5pm, and will then run every three months, on the fourth Thursday of every month.

Helen Turner added: “If you are unable to commit to attending quarterly meetings, you can opt to become a virtual member and have your say over emails, or by phoning and asking to speak to a senior member of our team – so we are trying to make the Group as inclusive as possible for everyone.”
