What an amazing feat to ride 75 miles on horse back for charity!

Thank you and well done to sixteen-year-old student at St Bede’s Catholic Voluntary Academy Polly Harrison, who did just that throughout October to raise money for Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Macmillan. Thanks to the generosity of her family and friends she raised £200 in total!

Polly said: "I rode everyday alternating between two ponies keeping a check on the miles covered on the Equilab phone app.

"Many of the miles were ridden along the Bottesford Beck Linear Park Bridleway, but with the increasingly busy roads it is often a dangerous ride to get to the safety of the Bridleway.

"The weather and the limited daylight hours increased the challenge, but I am proud and pleased to be able to support these charities."

She added: " Earlier in the year I donated a total of 9 inches of my hair to  The Little Princess Trust. A minimum of 7 inches of hair is required to successfully make real hair wigs for children with cancer.

"I am currently supporting the Alzheimer’s Society and would like to donate a similar amount to them in the near future."

Polly chose to donate to Lindsey Lodge in memory of her grandfather, she added: "He is dearly missed, but I am confident that his final days were as comfortable and peaceful as they could be."

What an inspiration! thank you Polly!
