The IPU Team
To celebrate 30 years of Lindsey Lodge Care, we're shining our spotlight on the services we provide.

Thousands of local families have been supported by our Inpatient Unit (IPU), which was opened in July 2002 by Her Majesty the Queen. It provides 24-hour specialist palliative care to patients, 365 days a year. Our team always go that extra mile to ensure patients are as comfortable as possible and do involve family, carers and ‘pets’ in their care.

Patients are admitted to the Hospice for symptom control or end of life care, and are referred to us by a health professional. Our team are able to provide intravenous therapies, which help avoid unnecessary hospital admissions for our patients. We also offer access to a respite bed, which can be booked in advance for people who are eligible for Lindsey Lodge care.

In our 30th year, we are expanding our capacity from 10 beds to 16 beds in response to increasing demand for our services and the ongoing pressure on bed availability within the NHS. These six new beds will be nurse/therapy led overseen by our Advanced Care Practitioners.
