Walkers invited to go with the glow for hospice

People of all ages are being invited to go with the glow for their local hospice.

Registration is now open for the Lindsey Lodge Hospice Glow Walk 2019, which for the second time, will start and finish at its Burringham Road site, taking in a 10-mile route around Scunthorpe. 

And for tiny feet there’s a brand new family-friendly three-mile Glow Worm Wiggle this year.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice Fundraiser Sharon Tune said: “Last year’s Glow Walk was a huge success, raising over £27,000, and we’re hoping that this year’s events will be even bigger and better than ever!

“As well as our brand new 10-mile route, we’ve listened to our supporters who want to enjoy the atmosphere, without going the full distance – so the Glow Worm Wiggle is especially for you!”  

Registration for the Glow Walk costs £12.50 per person for the event and is open now to men and women of all ages, as well as young people aged 13 and over, as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult. 

Everyone who registers before Thursday 28 February will receive a free Glow Walk 2019 T shirt, which would normally cost £5.

Entry to the Glow Worm Wiggle costs £5 per adult and £3.50 per child, alternatively there’s an opportunity for a family booking (two adults and two children) for £15. This walk is open to people of all ages, but children under the age of 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

Entrants to both events will also receive a pack including helpful hints and ideas to support them with their fundraising.

Sharon added: “Lindsey Lodge is often described as a beacon of light in our community, and last year it was very moving to see so many people making their way back to the Hospice carrying their glowing lanterns to place in our grounds, so we hope people will sign up and support us again this year.”
