A Polar Trek in March with 3 friends for Lindsey Lodge Hospice because of the great work provided in palliative care.
Team Carpe Diem is raising money for the Lindsey Lodge Hospice by undertaking a challenging polar trek. We are asking for pledges ALL of which will go towards the wonderful work the hospice do. The trip itself is wholly self-funded out of our own pockets.
Team Carpe Diem comprises of Andy Lindsley, Ian Chambers, Stew Birkitt and Trev Zimmerman.
On Friday 13th March 2020 to Sunday 15th March 2020 we are going to be taking on a severe polar challenge on the Hardangervidda plateau in Norway.
It will consist of tough conditions and inclement weather to test our abilities, which will involve challenging snow trekking under winter conditions and two nights spent out in winter tents. Temperatures can reach -25C.
All of our equipment will be pulled behind us on pulks and we will be walking in snowshoes or using skis. We will be developing winter navigation and snow and avalanche skills.
We have begun training and any pledges will spur us onto even greater efforts. Please consider sponsoring us generously if you are able to. Every little helps.
Andy, Ian, Stew and Trev.
