Please support Wellbeing patient Tina as she prepares to brave the shave to raise funds for Lindsey Lodge Hospice
Tina is hoping to raise £1,000 for the hospice, please see her story below:
I was born in Wales, and have three sisters; one now deceased but the other lives in Cirencester where I have a nephew and niece plus great nephew and nieces and the other one lives somewhere in America. Although I spent the early years in Wales I came to Scunthorpe with my Dad, Mum and younger sister when I was a teenager, as my dad came to work at the steelworks. I went to the Vale of Ancholme, and then to North Lindsey College where I took Preliminary cert in social care, I have worked at North Lincolnshire Council for many years as a admin assistant. I married Dennis in 1986 but he passed away in 2014 after nearly 27 years of marriage but I have a family good friends and neighbours who help me as I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis, fibromyalgia and diabetic among other things.
I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March this year and underwent surgery in Hull and now undergoing chemotherapy at Scunthorpe General Hospital. I also attend the Lindsey Lodge Hospice and the staffs of both the hospital and hospice are wonderful who help me a great deal to cope.
