It is with sadness that our much loved colleague, Keith Heald, passed away from cancer on 3rd July. It was a short battle which he bravely came to terms with over the 6 months of diagnosis.

Keith was employed in the Rail Industry for 14 years, working in Infrastructure Projects, High Output and Track Renewals before joining the Works Delivery team 2 years ago. No matter which team Keith was with, he made a great impression and a positive contribution.

Keith was a valued member of our family and is sadly missed. Keith was great to know socially, an appetite for enjoying life and being with people. During his illness, he remained positive and stayed in touch with the team via social media. He appreciated us visiting him and having a chat.

To recognise Keith's bravery and how he touched all of our lives, Gail Jamieson, our Finance Manager, is taking part in the Chester Marathon on Sunday 6th October to raise funds for the hospice that Keith received care. This is a an enormous challenge as Gail has never run a marathon before however she is confident with hard training she will get round the 26.2 miles.

All monies raised will go to the Lindsey Lodge Hospice. In addition, Keith’s Planning team in York will also be arranging a few cake sales over the coming months to raise funds for the Hospice. Dates are to be advised in due course. The Lindsey Lodge Hospice is situated in the heart of North Lincolnshire and has been providing high quality, specialist palliative care to local people and families living with life limiting illnesses for over 26 years.

Last year, their dedicated team of staff and volunteers touched the lives of more than 5,000 people, either directly as patients, or by supporting family members or carers, before, during and after one of the most difficult times in their lives. Please support Keith and his family’s chosen charity ‘Lindsey Lodge Hospice’ and give generously to this challenge.
