We couldn’t do it without 400 of them!
Did you know?
We wouldn’t be able to keep our vital services running without the free contribution of over 400 volunteers giving an amazing 50,000 hours every year in our warehouse, shops and the hospice itself!
Volunteers have been a fundamental part of the hospice since the day it opened and we believe that it’s about an “equal partnership.”
How will you benefit?
There are many and varied reasons why people find volunteering beneficial and rewarding. Some are looking for a new experience, to make new friends, build self-confidence, develop new skills and “feel good” for giving back to the community.
Here’s what some have had to say:
“I enjoy giving something back in life for a good cause.”
“I was made to feel welcome from day one.”
“I have met like-minded people who create a happy atmosphere to work in. I feel that I am part of a team.”
What current volunteering vacancies are there?
We currently have the following volunteering opportunities:
What training will you be given?
All volunteers will be given induction training as well as on the job training. The speed of the training will be tailored to each individual. Other training opportunities will also be provided to give volunteers the opportunity to develop new skills.
How much time do you have to offer?
Any time you can give will be appreciated. Some people help out with one-off fundraising events, others give a couple of hours and some offer half a day a week. It is really flexible.
