Lindsey Lodge Hospice Welcomes New Chair of Trustees Dr Pat Webster
Following yesterday’s Annual General Meeting, Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare is pleased to announce a change in leadership within its Board of Trustees.
After four years of dedicated service, Alan Bell has stepped down as Chair of Trustees. Alan’s leadership was instrumental in guiding the charity through the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring the hospice’s sustainability during a difficult time. We extend our sincere gratitude to Alan for his invaluable contributions and are delighted that he will continue to serve as a valued member of our Board of Trustees.

Dr Pat Webster, previously Deputy Chair, has accepted the role of Chair of Trustees. Joining her in the leadership team is Darren Topp, who has been appointed Deputy Chair. Dr Webster brings a wealth of clinical expertise and has previously chaired our Quality Assurance Committee. Pat also has developed links and worked with the hospice as a local GP over many years, Darren Topp complements Dr Webster’s skills with his extensive business acumen, currently serving as CEO of LK Bennett and having previously held a senior executive position at Marks and Spencer.
Alan Bell said,
“As your Chair for the last four years and Deputy Chair the year before that, I would like to extend my appreciation for the help and support I have had from the other trustees and the Executive team.
Lindsey Lodge is a cause close to my heart and I look forward to supporting everything we do as a trustee going forward”
Pat Webster said
“I am honoured and excited to take on the role of Chair of the Hospice board of trustees.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice is such a loved organisation within the North Lincolnshire community and provides such wonderful care to our local population. It’s hard to imagine an organisation that I could be prouder of being associated with. The staff, volunteers patients and families are a special group of people who make this the amazing place it is.
Going forward we have the chance to develop our clinical care to reach more people and use research to drive forward the quality of our care. We want to help more people in North Lincolnshire who have life limiting conditions. The board of trustees will have the challenge of ensuring financial balance in a difficult world but our driver must always be person-centred, high-quality care. Alongside this we look to make Lindsey Lodge Hospice an even better place to work for our staff and volunteers so that we remain ‘always there to care’.
Alan will be a hard act to follow and change has its challenges but together I’m sure we will go from strength to strength”
Karen Griffiths, Chief Executive said
“I take this opportunity to thank Alan for his time as chair at Lindsey Lodge. Alan has a wealth of skills, knowledge and experiences and we have been very fortunate to have him share these with us over the past 4 years. His previous role as a Non-Executive Director in the NHS and success in business has brought a winning combination to the role as he has understood health care systems, the complexity and importance of building networks and has guided us with sound decision making and advice.
He has offered us a significant amount of time over the years and we have seen him turn his hand to most volunteer roles from directing cars at our glow walks, supporting our car boots, cheering our staff at it’s a knockout, opening our shops and speaking and attending fundraising events. His interest in the charity and desire for us to develop, expand and sustain has been ambitious and we have been very privileged to have had Alan drive us with such a strong and capable demeanour.”
Best wishes to Alan, Dr Pat and Darren, from All Staff and Volunteers at Lindsey Lodge
