Lindsey Lodge wins an award for Innovation in Income Generation
Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare are excited to announce their success at the prestigious Hospice UK Income Generation Awards yesterday. Members from the Lindsey Lodge Fundraising Team attended the award ceremony in Manchester, and took home Hospice UK’s Innovation in Income Generation 2024 Award for their Pennies Make Pounds Campaign.

The Pennies Make Pounds Campaign focuses on small donations and how they make a big difference to Lindsey Lodge Hospice. This innovative initiative centres around a piggy bank named “Penny,” adopted by supporters to collect loose change. The campaign highlights the power of small donations and how they collectively create a significant impact on the holistic elements of our patient care at Lindsey Lodge.
Courtney Deans, the lead fundraiser behind the campaign said,
“This campaign aimed to transform spare change, often seen as insignificant, into a symbol of enormous potential. Especially during the current cost-of-living crisis, we wanted to emphasise the immense difference even small donations can make for our local hospice.”
“I am beyond thrilled and incredibly humbled to have this campaign recognised on a national level and I am so proud of all that we have achieved.”

The campaign also extends beyond donations as it has also helped to increase our footfall into our shops and reduce our carbon footprint with the introduction of ‘penny banks’ into all of our local hospice shops. This has allowed supporters to adopt their pig, and bank their donations in their local shop, instead of driving to our hospice. This innovative approach has made engaging with our campaign more convenient for our supporters, has brought new customers to our shops and helped the environment too.

Tom Moody, Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Income Generation adds,
“The Pennies Make Pounds Campaign showcases the collaboration between our two income generation teams, working together towards a common goal. Both the retail and fundraising teams have worked really hard to get Penny into the hands of our supporters and champion every single donation. The campaign has seen a significant increase in small donations to Lindsey Lodge, which has enabled our team to translate that impact directly into our exceptional care. It is great to see that hard work, Lindsey Lodge and North Lincolnshire recognised on a national platform.”

The campaign wouldn’t have been possible without the generous sponsorship by ultrafast full fibre network operator MS3 networks. Their donation helped to cover the cover the cost of the campaign which ensures that every single penny raised from this campaign goes directly into our care.
Evie Huber from MS3 Networks said,
“We are thrilled that Lindsey Lodge won the Innovation in Income Generation award. We are proud to have sponsored the Pennies Make Pounds campaign, and we’ve seen first-hand the great work that everyone at Lindsey Lodge achieves every day.”

Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare would just like to thank our sponsors, our supporters, Hospice UK and our staff and Volunteers for bringing this campaign to life. Thank you, your support always makes a big difference to everyone at Lindsey Lodge.
