Esh Construction’s Generous Donation to Transform Lindsey Lodge Hospice’s Meet and Eat Restaurant

Esh Construction’s Generous Donation to Transform Lindsey Lodge Hospice’s Meet and Eat Restaurant

We’re thrilled to announce that our beloved Meet and Eat restaurant is getting a brand-new look and an expanded space, thanks to the incredible generosity of Esh Construction and YORhub’s YOR4Good Fund! As part of their commitment to giving back to the communities where they work, Esh Construction, currently developing the M181 roundabout, has funded this vital refurbishment. Esh Construction pledged the funding as part of its commitment to YORhub’s YOR4Good Fund, a community grant initiative supporting economic regeneration projects.

Their support extends beyond the restaurant, too. Esh Construction is also providing free tablets for every room on our inpatient unit, allowing patients to stay connected with loved ones, enjoy entertainment, and manage personal tasks with ease. This thoughtful donation will make a significant difference to our patients’ comfort and well-being.

A Restaurant with a Purpose: How Your Support Helps

The Meet and Eat restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it’s a cornerstone of our fundraising efforts. It serves our patients and their families, but it’s also open to the public, with every penny of its profits directly funding patient care. Our community loves the restaurant, not just because it’s an easy way to support the hospice, but also because of its high-quality, reasonably priced food. In fact, it’s often fully booked!

This refurbishment will allow us to update the décor with a fresh, cohesive new look and, crucially, expand our seating capacity. This means we can welcome even more guests, take more bookings, and ultimately, raise more vital funds for the hospice. The renovated space will boast a natural yet cosy feel, with a flexible layout perfect for larger parties and even private events.

Community Collaboration: Building a Better Future

We’re incredibly proud of the community involvement in this project. HLM Architects provided a design for the restaurant, free of charge, to ensure we have space for as many covers as possible while ensuring it is an adaptable and accessible space. Art and design students from John Leggott College have also been instrumental in creating mood boards and design ideas, helping to shape the final vision for the restaurant. While, construction students from North Lindsey College have gained valuable work experience by helping Esh Construction level the outside space for future outdoor dining and installing bike racks for our cycling visitors.

We Need Your Help to Finish Strong!

The refurbishment is scheduled to take place in July, and while Esh Construction has provided the funding for materials, we’re putting out a call for local tradespeople to help us get this project over the finish line.
