Green fingered gardening enthusiasts are being invited to open their gardens to the public this summer to raise much-needed funds for their local hospice.

Registration is now open for Lindsey Lodge’s Open Gardens Scheme, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary. Over the scheme’s 10-year history big hearted gardeners have helped raise a staggering £75,000 for the Burringham Road Hospice.

Brian Dale, who opened his and Nigel Bradford’s garden in Winterton last year, said: “The great thing about opening your garden for Lindsey Lodge is that you see where the money goes and how it benefits other local people, it’s a truly worthwhile cause.

“We really enjoyed opening our garden, because as well as being a fantastic way to support the hospice, it’s a unique way to meet new people.”

Lindsey Lodge Hospice has been providing high quality, specialist palliative care to local people and families living with life limiting illnesses for over 27 years. It relies on fundraising and donations to raise the £3.5 million it needs each year to continue to deliver its care in North Lincolnshire.

Brian added: “We’re really looking forward to taking part in this year’s 10 year anniversary, and would encourage any keen gardeners to take part, it’s not as daunting as you might believe!”
