Shoppers looking for a gift with a difference are in for a treat when a North Lincolnshire charity opens its second shop in Barton.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice will open its Lindsey’s Pre-loved Collectables and Gift Shop on George Street on Monday 11 November, which promises to be a treasure trove of vintage, collectables and giftware – and the good news for bargain hunters is that it’s directly across the road from the Hospice’s existing shop.
Lindsey Lodge Chief Executive Karen Griffiths said: “We’re delighted to be opening our second shop in Barton.
“We already have a fantastic level of support in the town, but we wanted to cater more widely for our vintage and retro customers, and just didn’t have the room in our existing shop.”
She added: “We’ll still be offering a full range of clothing and bargains in our main store, but we’ll also be introducing the people of Barton to our Lindsey’s brand, with a hand-picked selection of affordable vintage and collectables – all in time for Christmas!”
The Hospice provides specialist care to North Lincolnshire patients with any progressive life-limiting illness, and supports their family and carers during illness and into bereavement. The new outlet will add to its portfolio of charity shops across Ashby, Brigg, Crowle, Epworth, Messingham and Scunthorpe, which generate a significant contribution to its £3.5 million annual running costs.
Karen added: “When you donate, or buy something from our charity retail outlets, you’re directly supporting North Lincolnshire patients and their families. You are also supporting a more sustainable environment, through re-use and recycling and reducing landfill – so we hope the people of Barton will support us in our new venture!”
The new shop will be open Monday to Saturday, between 9am and 4.30pm and run by Barton’s existing Lindsey Lodge retail team, but the Hospice would welcome enquiries from local people regarding volunteering opportunities by contacting Nerissa Gallagher on phone 01724 270835, or emailing llh.volunteering1@nhs.net
