Due to the extremely cold weather we are currently experiencing, which is forecasted to continue over the coming week, Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare has taken the decision to change the venue of its Light up a Life Service THIS THURSDAY: Thursday 15 December.
The event was planned to take place outside at Normanby Hall Country Park at 6.45pm, but due to the extremely cold weather, hazardous driving conditions and health and safety concerns for the attendees, the event will now take place at St Hugh’s Church, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe DN16 2AG at 6.45pm.
Lindsey Lodge Fundraising Manager Kirsty Walker said: “The safety of our supporters and performers is always our top priority for all of our events.
“In light of feedback from attendees and the continuing cold snap, we have taken the decision to move our Light up a Life Service into the church to avoid unnecessary travel and to keep everyone safe and warm.”
She added: “We are grateful to Rev’d Julia Clark and the team at St Hugh’s for their support in providing the venue, and also the team at Normanby Hall Country Park for their understanding. We’d also like to thank Heslam Park for offering free parking in their car park for the event.
“We hope all of those people who have made their dedication will join us at St Hugh’s to remember their loved ones.”
The order of service remains the same and all of the performers are still confirmed. Supporters are requested to park at Heslam Park wherever possible.
