A kind-hearted mother and daughter have raised over £3,500 for the North Lincolnshire charity that provided care for their loved one.
Tracy Simpson (58) and Courtney Simpson (20) held a charity night at Redbourn Club in memory of Graham Simpson, their much-loved husband and father, who passed away at Lindsey Lodge, aged 47 in 2017.
Tracy said: “Graham spent two weeks at Lindsey Lodge and the care he received was fantastic.
“Being there meant that Courtney and I had precious quality time with him during the last two weeks of his life.”
After their original plans were delayed due to Covid-19, Tracy and Courtney held a charity night in March 2022 in memory of Graham, which featured live music from one of his favourite bands, Scrapyard Dogs.
Tracy added: “Every single one of the 300 guests who attended were there to remember Graham and we were truly overwhelmed by everyone’s support.
“We held a raffle to raise funds, but the demand for tickets was so high, we ran out of raffle books and had to get more! It was amazing to see everyone being so generous.”
She added: “We’d like to say a special thank you to everyone who came along and all of the local businesses who kindly supported us.
“We’ve decided to hold charity night every year in memory of Graham, to keep his memory alive and celebrate his life.”
Lindsey Lodge Fundraising Assistant Courtney Deans said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to Tracy and Courtney on behalf of everyone at Lindsey Lodge.
“The evening was a touching tribute to Graham, which raised a phenomenal amount of money that will help us to continue to support other patients and their families in our care.”
