Lindsey Lodge Hospice has announced plans to re-surface its drive and car parking facilities.
The essential works will be carried out at the Hospice’s Burringham Road site by local contractor EC Surfacing between Wednesday 16 and Friday 18 October.
The Hospice’s Inpatient Unit will remain open during the works and its main reception will only be open between 9am and 6pm.
Its day care-based Wellbeing Service will be closed from Tuesday 15 to Friday 18 October; the Hospice, will however be offering a ‘Hospice at Home’ service to these patients.
The Hospice’s Lindsey’s Meet and Eat Restaurant will not be open to the public between Wednesday 16 and Friday 18 October, but will be open as usual from Saturday 19 October at 8am.
Lindsey Lodge Hospice Director of Nursing and Patient Services Maureen Georgiou said: “This is a much-needed programme of works to ensure the safety of all visitors to our site.
“Anyone who has visited the Hospice will know the current drive has lots of pot holes and is prone to flooding, so after agreement from our Board of Trustees, we undertook a competitive tendering exercise and awarded the contract to EC Surfacing, who are working closely with us to minimise the disruption.”
She added: “We have written to all of our Wellbeing patients and their families to inform them of our plans to provide care in their homes and we hope our loyal Lindsey’s Meet and Eat customers will understand the need for us to close for these three days.
“On behalf of the Hospice I would like to apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause, and thank everyone for their support during this period. We look forward to welcoming patients, carers and the public back to the Lindsey Lodge on Monday 21 October.”
