Lindsey Lodge Hospice has been given a record-breaking £7,535 boost after this year’s spectacular Festival of Christmas Trees.

This annual charity event, now in its thirteenth year, was held in aid of the Hospice by the Rotary Club of Scunthorpe over two weekends in December at Old Brumby United Church. It featured over 80 sparkling Christmas trees, wreaths, and a whole host of musical entertainment, including a Bollywood Evening, arranged by Jonathan George and his fellow John Leggott students, which raised a staggering £2,560 towards this year’s total.

Rotarian and Lindsey Lodge Community Fundraiser Anne Millett said: “On behalf of everyone at the Hospice, I’d like to say how grateful we all are to George Jefferson and his wife Sue for all their time and effort in organising this lovely event every year.

“This year was another fantastic fortnight of festive fun and celebration, and the Bollywood Evening really was the icing on the cake – congratulations to Jonathan and his team for everything they achieved!”
She added: “What a marvellous Christmas gift for Lindsey Lodge Hospice to receive such a significant amount of money.

“Thank you to Scunthorpe Rotary Club, Old Brumby United Church and all of our supporters for making this year’s Festival of Christmas Trees such a successful event!”
