Lindsey Lodge is going on the road for The Lindsey Lodge Roadshow – Our Care in your area
Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare is launching a brand new concept in 2024, The Lindsey Lodge Roadshow. We will be taking our care, retail and fundraising team on the road and into the rural areas of North Lincolnshire, in a bid to make our services more accessible.
Focusing on Barton, Brigg and Epworth our team will visit each location four times in the year, in an effort to break down barriers to accessing our care, and raise more awareness about the breadth of care that we offer.
Our care team will be on hand to offer free health support and advice, bringing members from our inpatient, rehab and wellbeing teams to give communities access to our full range of services.
Our retail team will be bringing a pop up shop to each venue to allow people who have perhaps not visited our stores before, to get a flavour of what we sell and hopefully find some bargains. Members of our fundraising team will be there with information about our latest events and campaigns, to allow people to learn more about how we fund our hospice or sign up to an event in person.
The 2021 census data showed North Lincolnshire has a population of 169,680 people with over 18% of households without access to a car or van. We want to ensure everyone has access to the care and information they need, regardless of their circumstance, and appreciate that some people may struggle to get to our base in Scunthorpe. The Lindsey Lodge Roadshow aims to breakdown those barriers and provide regular support to some of our more rural locations.
Helen Turner, Director of Clinical Services said,
“We are excited to engage with our community and meet people who may be in need of our support. Often the word ‘hospice’ is misunderstood, believing that engage in our services is for those at the end of their life. Lindsey Lodge provides much more and we hope our Roadshow can change perceptions by helping people to understand the wide variety of services on offer at Lindsey Lodge.”
“We support patients and families from the point of a palliative diagnosis with care, treatment and wellbeing programmes allowing personal goals to be set and achieved. Lindsey Lodge cares for the patient and those that are important to them through a wide variety of services. Please come along and learn about all we have to offer for example our inpatient unit, carers support group, 24-hour support line, counselling and much more.”
The Lindsey Lodge Roadshow is open to everyone who wants to learn a little more about what we do, regardless of whether they have a palliative diagnosis. The Roadshows are free to attend and take place every month from 10 am – 2pm in the following dates and locations.
