After retiring from his trustee role, which he’d held since January 1995, earlier this year, Reverend Canon Michael Boughton said a final farewell to patients, staff and volunteers at the Burringham Road hospice on Tuesday 6 November, where he had served as a chaplain since it opened in 1992.
Rev Canon Michael Boughton said: “It has been a great privilege to serve as a chaplain for Lindsey Lodge, and be part of such a wonderfully co-operative chaplaincy team.
“I have enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people and feel honoured to have been able to share time with them and provide them with support.”
Lindsey Lodge Hospice Chief Executive Karen Griffiths said: “On behalf of everyone at Lindsey Lodge I’d like to pay tribute to Michael for the comfort, kindness and spiritual guidance he has provided for our patients and families over the past 26 years. And thank him for the important role he has played in the Hospice’s history as a Trustee – we wish him a very happy and healthy retirement.”
