A North Lincolnshire hospice is set to reveal its brand new mascot at its Christmas Fair, thanks to a generous donation from a retail distribution giant’s charitable organisation.

A brand new updated version of Lindsey Bear will make an appearance at Lindsey Lodge Hospice’s Christmas Craft Fair at John Leggott College on Saturday 24 November, after Making a Difference Locally (MADL), Nisa Retail’s Corporate Foundation donated the £1,500 needed to replace him.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice Fundraiser Samantha Wood said: “Our Lindsey Bear mascot has been representing the Hospice for a number of years now and he was looking very worn out, so we were delighted when MADL contacted us with their generous offer!

“We’d like to say a massive thank you to them for their amazing support.”

MADL Head of Charity Kate Carroll said: “Lindsey Lodge Hospice means so much to everybody at Nisa Retail. Lindsey Bear is a vital part of the Hospice team and he was feeling a bit tired, so we thought it would be a nice to spruce him up a bit in time for the Christmas celebrations.  We can’t wait to meet him!”

The brand new Lindsey Bear will be dropping into the Hospice’s Craft Fair at John Leggott, between 11am and 3pm, where there will be whole host of stalls selling Christmas gifts, decorations, toys and books along with a range of handmade goodies.

Parents can enjoy the shopping, Starbucks coffee, and a chance to enjoy live music provided by the John Leggott College Orchestra.

Samantha Wood added: “We would also like to say a big thank you to John Leggott for hosting our event and hope people will come along to meet Lindsey Bear. Santa will even be making an appearance to have a Santa Selfie!

“There will be a wide variety of entertainment for children including face painting along with a chance to write their very own letter to Santa, in time for them to receive a reply from the man himself before the big day arrives, and every child will receive a free candy cane – as long as mum or dad says it’s OK!”
Entry to the event costs just £1 and children aged under-12 go free.
