One of our incredible Registered Nurses has moved into one of our family rooms for two weeks, after a family member went into self-isolation, so that she can continue delivering care to patients when they need it most.

The nurse, who wishes to remain anonymous said: “For me it was an easy decision to make, as it means that I can still work and care for the patients, and help keep the Inpatient Unit running smoothly at such a difficult time.

“Everyone at the Hospice has been lovely, and although I miss my family and dogs, two weeks isn’t a long time and if it helps to keep the Hospice running smoothly, I’ll do what I can.”

Senior Inpatient Nurse Karen Andrew said: “This truly demonstrates how dedicated Hospice staff are to delivering the best possible care to our patients. We are hugely appreciative to our colleague for selflessly making the decision to move out of her family home, prioritising the needs of the hospice at what is a difficult time for everyone.”

To try and mitigate the financial impact of Coronavirus on our Hospice, and continue to provide our specialist palliative care, we’re asking you to support us in our emergency appeal. So, please help our Hospice and make a donation here
