Lindsey Lodge Hospice and Healthcare is throwing down the gauntlet for youngsters aged 8 to 16 to turn £50 in cash into as much money as possible in just 30 days.

Lindsey Lodge Fundraiser Selina Doyle said: “We’re really hoping that local schools will get on board with the Lindsey Lodge Apprentice Challenge.

“Teams as small as two people, up to a whole class size can take part and it’s an exciting new opportunity for young people to use their talent and creative ideas to raise much-needed funds for their local Hospice.”

She added: “Once the teachers have signed up for the challenge, we’ll provide a £50 start-up fund, then it’s over to the teams to come up with a money making idea to make this amount grow!”

Lindsey Lodge have invited award winning local entrepreneur and businesswoman Nichola Threadgold on board to provide encouragement and inspiration. As well as appearing in the launch video, Nichola has agreed to visit participating schools to share her experience and provide motivation by talking to the teams.

Nichola Threadgold said: “I’m delighted to be involved with the Lindsey Lodge Apprentice Challenge!
“As well as inspiring the young entrepreneurs of tomorrow, it’s a fantastic way for students to bring all of the skills they’re learning in the classroom into a real world environment.

“There’s also a prize for the team that makes the most money, so there’s sure to be a little healthy competition on the way!”

Selina added: “We expanded our inpatient bed capacity from 10 beds to 16 last year, and demand for our care is higher than ever, so every penny raised from this challenge will ensure we can continue to provide our specialist services to North Lincolnshire patients and families.”
